Vermuteria Abrelatas, Barcelona - Hospitality Design
Location: Poble Espanyol, Barcelona
Year: 2024
Client: Abrelatas
Vermutería Abrelatas is a unique interior design project that reimagines the city's traditional 'queviures' or 'colmados' stores. The design's goal is to merge in perfectly with Poble Espanyol's heritage as an outdoor architectural museum showcasing Spanish customs, crafts, and culture.
Important design components make this immersive idea a reality. The walls and furniture are mostly red, creating a striking yet nostalgic background that is reminiscent of the classic colors of Barcelona's stores. The vivid color instantly takes visitors back in time and creates a cozy, welcoming, and distinctively Spanish ambiance.
The mobile counter, a focal point of the room, allows the service to be fluid and functional for a variety of purposes. The shelves behind the counter are spanned by a gold mirrored back wall, which highlights the goods of the esteemed Espinaler brand and adds depth and elegance. While its reflecting nature improves the light and gives the otherwise old look a contemporary twist, this piece gives the room a hint of luxury.
Every element of this project has been thoughtfully chosen to convey the lively history tale of Poble Espanyol as well as the classic vibe of neighborhood stores. The end effect is a pub that blends authenticity and style in every way, honoring the past while inviting people to enjoy it.
